Alvino was born in 1953 on a seaplane that took off from the Island of Giglio (Mediterranean Sea) bound for Grosseto.
He spent his life at sea, traveling the world as captain of various cruise ships and private boats. The years of parties on boats are over, and the sea today is his refuge, where he seeks peace and serenity alone, strictly in silence, listening to the sea.
In the evening he relaxes drinking wine and listens to reggae music.
Unfortunately he has a very rare condition in his neck that forces him to always keep his head turned to the right; some say the causes are unknown, but some islanders say it is the fault of his gaze turned toward the sea, even when he walks.
Today he fishes for lobster, alone or with his wife.
He recently started a charter business for sport and tourist fishing; he earns well but hopes it does not take off — out at sea now, he wants to be alone.
